I usually pass by Best Western PJ Hotel over the weekend whenever Oliver and I go to watch movies at Jaya Shopping Centre but I’ve never made a stop. I mean, other than the fact that I live and work in KL and even when I plan staycations just to get away from home over the weekend, I’d stick to hotels that are closer to the city centre. Sorry guys, you can get the girl out of the village. But this is one girl that you will find hard to get out of KL, haha!

Until one fine day when one of my good friends, Blogger Kolin Zainal invited me to hang out with her for a staycation at Best Western PJ, to which I gladly accepted. You see, Kolin is one of those nice people that any girl would be more than happy to hang around with; providing that you don’t hold a grudge whenever she makes her makcik-makcik comments. Trust me, makcik-makcik comments that come from a good, sincere heart are way better than nice comments that come from a bad place.
Anyway, upon stepping into our room, Kolin shouted, “Don’t touch anything! I want to take photos!” Oh, yes, when you’re friends with a blogger, that’s the kind of lines you always hear, haha! If you check out Kolin’s BLOG on our stay at the Best Western PJ a couple of years ago, you’ll see my photos too!

I honestly think the Best Western PJ offers more than what you might’ve thought at a glance. Our room was spacious enough for two stylish ladies like us with our suitcases filled with clothes for partying that night and work the next day. The bathroom was also clean and decent. I have no issues there. The most important thing for me when staying at a hotel is the comfortable bed. And ding ding ding, the Best Western PJ basically has ticked off these three boxes by my standards. If it’s good enough for Ms. Paris, it should be good enough for you.

So now, since the Movement Control Order (MCO) has eased up a little to enable more businesses to continue operating, hotels have been launching various promotions to encourage Malaysians to travel domestically again.
The Best Western PJ is among those who offer special discounts for frontliners. As part of their Let’s #PusingSelangorDulu campaign that encourages city dwellers like myself to plan staycations closer to home. You know, a quick getaway over the weekend to reset my brain and re-energise after a long week at work. A superior room at only RM98 nett??? Whattt???

I’ve actually had quite a nice experience staying there. Even the BBQ dinner was amazing, set up by the pool. Kolin Zainal and I had such a great time there before heading out later to watch a standup comedy at Publika. We even went back to the pool later to take photos by the pool which was nicely lit for some romantic shots. Naturally the pool is closed due to MCO until further notice, but that shouldn’t hinder you from having a nice time away from home yet still at home.
So, here are some photos that I managed to dig up from my phone from our stay at the Best Western PJ!

To all frontliners out there, don’t forget to make your reservation in advance. The offer is valid until 31 December 2020. Don’t forget to bring your work ID to enjoy the frontliner benefits.
